Hollyhocks

These paintings depict the giant hollyhock varieties I started from seed and grew in my garden. My favorite time to observe them was at moonrise when the sky would darken, and fireflies would begin to flutter through. I express their energy and luminescence in twilight.

9”x12”. Japanese graphite watercolor and gouache on archival paper. 2022

Prints, cards, and postcards are available in limited editions at Box Gallery.
