Medicinal Plants of Minnesota
In this series, I superimpose plant medicine/teacher and the Rainbow gravity theory (different wavelengths of light experience different gravity levels, implying a universe without a point of origin). At this intersection, I expose the interspecies cosmovision in which universe, plant, and people participate.
The paintings began in moments of fascination at Lake Maria State Park during long walks in the woods observing varieties of ephemerals and other natural wonders. By recognizing the agency of an individual plant in an individual artwork, I challenge the paradigm of western thought, where plants are inferior, passive, and mute.
